Easy Spell Candle Tutorial

As with most things, assembling the supplies and making a small batch of something is often costlier per item than buying from a small business. As such, I encourage you, if you are not looking to do any crafting, to purchase your candles from my favorite online shop and the witch whose candles inspired me to make the ones in this post. My favorites are her Black Cat Candles which smell divine and are a bargain at 15$ for 3 candles. She also sells amazing scents which I both wear and use in spell work. https://www.naturalmagickshop.com/collections/candles/products/candles-black-cat-candles Here is how I made some beeswax candles using my favorite scents. The scents used here include amazing perfumes by https://sucreabeille.com/ and also from Natural Magick Shop linked above.

Fair warning...my images are from various wax sheets. Do not be alarmed at the change in color from one photo to the next.

Here’s what you will need:

- beeswax sheets (I bought some on Amazon)

- string for wicks (most beginner wax sheet packs include this)

- glitter (optional but so pretty)

- oils and perfumes

- rotary cutter and mat or scissors

- paper towels or other disposable surface

1. Begin by cutting a wax sheet to the desired length and width. Most sheets are 4” long. I like to cut them to 2-4” long.

2. Add a few drops of your favorite essential oil or witchy perfume onto the wax and spread it with your finger tips. (Bonus...you will smell awesome)

3. Next lay the wick string across the wax sheet and cut the end leaving 1/2“ to 3/4“ of wick extending past the edge to allow you to light your finished candles.

4. Begin rolling your candle. You will roll tightly around the wick and then roll loosely and evenly until the candle is fully rolled.

5. Take the finished candles and gently press the seam down to seal them. Next anoint the outside with the same oil or perfume you used before rolling.

6. Lay out your disposable surface and sprinkle a fine layer of glitter on it. You will gently roll the finished candles in this glitter to finish them off if you prefer a sparkly candle.

7. I like to store my finished candles in plastic baggies by scent and color until I’m ready to burn them.

Happy crafting witches!
